While in the My Book page Yearbook Layout Editor, click on any object and a tool panel will open up.
The Text Tool Panel includes:
· Up & Down Arrows for moving the text up or down one layer
· <X> Icon for Deleting the Entire Text Block
· Icon for Duplicating Text
· Text <Style> Drop-Down Menu
· Text <Size> Slider
· Icons for Modifying Text to:
o <Bold>
o <Italic>
o <Underlines>
· Icon for Text Alignment
· Icon for Text Color
· Icon for Changing Background Color & Opacity
· Icon for Adding/Editing a Text Frame
· Icon for Adding Special Effects such as:
o Drop Shadow
o Refelction
o Glow
The Photo Tool Panel Includes:
· Up & Down Arrows for moving the text up or down one layer
· <X> Icon for Deleting the Entire Text Block
· Icon for Duplicating Text
· Icon for Information on Image
· Icon for Selecting "Style"
· Icon for Adding/Changing Photo frame
· Icon for Zooming an Image within a Frame and moving it
· Icon for Rotating & Flipping Images
· Icon for Adding Special Effects such as:
o Drop Shadow
o Refelction
o Glow
To Move an Object:
1. Click on the object and hold down the mouse button. (Text requires that you click directly on the Text Frame)
2. Drag the object to the desired location.
3. Release the Mouse button.
To Resize an Object:
1. Click on the Object.
2. Move your mouse cursor over the small white boxes along the edges and corners of the Object's frame.
3. When the cursor changes to a pair of opposed arrows, hold the primary mouse button down and drag the Object's corner or side in or out.
a. Dragging a corner will retain the object's original aspect ratio.
b. Dragging the top, bottom or sides will re-proportion the object's aspect ratio.
c. Use the <Zoom> tool to reposition the image within a re-proportioned frame.
4. Release the mouse button when you have achieved the desired size and shape.
To Rotate an Object:
5. Click on the Object.
6. Move your mouse cursor just outside the corner of the Object's frame.
7. When the cursor changes to a curved, double-headed arrow, hold the primary mouse button down and drag the Object's corner around clockwise or counterclockwise.
8. Release the mouse button when you have achieved the desired rotation.
To Align Multiple Objects or Text:
1. Select the first object by clicking on it.
2. Hold down the <Shift> key.
3. Select the second object by clicking on it.
a. If additional objects are to be selected, continue to hold down the <Shift> key and then click on additional objects.
4. When all selections have been made, release the <Shift> key.
5. You can now move or modify your collection of objects.
When Multiple Objects are Selected:
· The Up & Down Arrows can be used to move all the objects up or down one layer
· The <X> Icon will Delete All Selected Objects
· The Duplication Icon will Copy & Paste All Selected Objects
· The (6) Alignment Icons will adjust all objects to either:
o The uppermost object's top edge
o The lowermost object's bottom edge
o The leftmost object's left edge
o The rightmost object's right edge
o The average vertical center of the first object selected
o The average horizontal center of the first object selected
